WHAT IS CoolHead?!
CoolHead is an affordable, easy-to-use insert that helps protect you from heatstroke and similar conditions in three simple steps. First, soak it in cold water, second, attach it to the inside of your headwear, and three, continue with your activities. It’s that easy.
While you should always keep an eye out for signs of heatstroke or heat exhaustion, it’s much easier to keep your head cool with CoolHead.
WHAT SPORTS is CoolHead designed for?
CoolHead can be used in all types of sports and physical activities inside most hats and helmets:
Cycling, American Football, Baseball, Cricket, Hiking, Running, Tennis, Motorsports, Horse Riding, Fishing and other outdoor activities.
Do I really NEED IT?
Since 1995, 61 football players have died from heat stroke (46 high school, 11 college, 2 professional, and 2 organized youth). Ninety percent of recorded heat stroke deaths occurred during practice.
Any athlete training in high temperatures should use CoolHead to prevent heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
WHAT is a HEAT Stroke?
Heat stroke, also known as sun stroke, is a type of severe heat illness that results in a body temperature greater than 40.0 °C (104.0 °F)
WHY does HEAT affect my performance?
High heat and humidity lead to two problems in the exercising body: 1) increased core body temperature and 2) dehydration. Increased body temperature (hyperthermia) leads to decreased muscle endurance, which means the muscle’s ability to contract repeatedly or in a sustained manner over long periods of time. High core temps also cause a shift in energy production from aerobic to anaerobic mechanisms, which means the body has to use up its muscle energy stores more rapidly. Unfortunately, during a longer athletic event, the rate of adding energy (sports drinks, energy bars, gels, etc) can’t keep up with the rate of losing energy when heat and humidity are high. Finally, high body temperature causes a decrease in blood flow to the heart as blood pools in the limbs. If the heart doesn’t get as much blood, it can’t pump as much oxygenated blood back to the muscles.
Has CoolHead been TESTED?
CoolHead has been tested many times. Most recent 75 minute cycling test showed 19F degree difference on the inside of the helmet.
Isn't HYDRATION the KEY to anti-heatstroke?!
Hydration before the exercise will not prevent an athlete from overheating because body core temperature needs an external cooling aid which is CoolHead cooling insert.
HOW OFTEN should CoolHead be replaced?!
For best results we recommend replacing CoolHead cooling insert once every 6-12 months.
